Bangladesh Cricket History

Bangladesh’s first official attack on international cricket took place in 1979 in the British ICC Trophy. Bangladesh played its first ODI match against Pakistan on March 31, 1986 at the Asian Cup.

 Football has long been the most popular sport in Bangladesh, but cricket is becoming increasingly popular in urban areas, especially in the late 1990s, when football surpassed football. In 1997, Bangladesh won the ICC Cup in Malaysia, which won the first world cricket championship in 1999 in the UK. He also defeated Pakistan - very interesting Pakistan - and Scotland.

On June 26, 2000, Bangladesh received full membership in the ICC, while Bangladesh recorded most of the lost tests (21 from 2000 to 2002) and ODI (23 from 2001 to 2004). Bangladesh was to become the first member of the International Criminal Tribunal after 2004 and after the 1999 World Cup in 2004.


On July 28, 2018, Bangladesh completed 108 tests and received 10 tests. His first victory was against the Zimbabwe team, and the next two teams were against the West Indies team. In particular, Great Britain, Sri Lanka and Australia surpassed New Zealand, Pakistan, India and South Africa.

They completed their 100th test when they went to Sri Lanka in March 2017. The team was more successful in ODI, winning 118 out of 353 games. He also played 26 games at 82 Twenty20 International.Currently Bangladesh is ranked 9th in the test, 7th in ODI and 10th in I20 T20I.
